Angela works in Oil and Acrylic, and also does sculpture in various forms of clay and sculpey. She has been a practicing artist since before she could read, though never attended a university for her art. During the 1990's she worked in practical Special Effects for film and television, specializing in project acquisition, color lead, sculpt, hair punching and on-set puppeteering of production creatures.
Currently she creates realistic pet portraits on commission, and other personally inspired works as she builds up her oeuvre in the aims of participating in juried shows.
"I close my eyes and I see the works I want to make. I wake up from dreams about them. I make them. I’m obsessed. All of me is now finally wistfully wrapped into one. It took a lifetime of experiences to bring me to exactly right here. Everything I have been in my life is at work, in my work. I am whole.
I have figured out that art - at least for me – is a spiritual experience as much as it is a physical or mental one. It’s facing your pitfalls and humility on a daily basis. It’s forgetting who you are in order torememberwho you are. Best of all, it’s not finite like a degree or a position at a firm; it is ongoing, ever-changing, always advancing aseach of us are every day, inside and out. It is quite obviously the perfect obsession."
